We present for the first time a rosé wine made with Garnacha peluda (“Hairy grenache”) grapes 100%.
* Garnacha Peluda (Hairy grenache) is a mutation of the Garnacha Negra, also known as Garnacha Gris and Lledoner Gris. It is native to Catalonia and is recommended in Aragon and Catalonia. It is also grown in the French Languedoc. The grapes are oval, with medium and compact clusters, with rather thick hairy skin. The wines that are obtained are of high quality, little color and high alcoholic degree.
Under the name “La Borruda” (name as it is known in Terra Alta), Celler Batea presents to the public a rosé wine elaborated in Provençal style. Made with selected over 25 years grapes of the variety Garnacha peluda. In its elaboration The must is drip in the press without applying any pressure. A static racking at low temperature is done. In cement deposits to eliminate big wine sediments. The clean must is inoculated to ferment at controlled temperature.
Primicia rosé, appears to be as a soft and fresh rosé, leaves fruity and caramel flavors on the palate and its becomes in the second rosé made by Celler Batea in the Terra Alta.
